Live Recording (year 1996)
Program Notes and Context of the Album
Recording date: live performance from a concert on October 20, 1996, at the Recoleta Cultural Center in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The Clarinet Sonata in F minor, Op. 120 No. 1, is one of the masterpieces of the clarinet repertoire. Written by Johannes Brahms in the summer of 1894, it belongs to the extraordinary group of late works inspired by the talent of the great clarinetist Richard Mühlfeld, who motivated the composer to abandon his creative retreat.
This digital version features a very special performance from thirty years ago with my sister, the pianist Myriam Blasberg.
